Another great, planned community in Myrtle Beach is Barefoot Resort. This community is a cohesive mixture of year around residents and vacationers with top notch amenities.
In a series of villages, Barefoot Resort has single family homes, estate homes and a multitude of condominiums. The location stretches from West of the Intracoastal Waterway at Highway 31 at Water Tower Road east to the Oceanfront. It is located about 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach Airport (MYR)
Woven through this planned resort community of villages is 4 Barefoot Golf Courses, it is a golfers destination. If you wish to know more about the golf available at Barefoot, see their web site Barefoot Golf
The community offers a shuttle to their oceanfront cabana with various stops through out the community. No more looking for parking at the oceanfront. The shuttle service is operational seven days a week and runs from May until Labor Day Weekend. After Labor Day, it runs weekends only until the end of October. The shuttle runs about every hour starting at 9am until 4:30pm from locations around the resort and from the beach at 46th avenue North. More about what is available at the Barefoot Oceanfront Cabana here.
Another reason this community is so popular is because it is golf cart friendly. Residents and vacationers use their carts to get around the community, to the pools, tennis, golf, shopping and restaurants. It is one of the few communities in Myrtle Beach that accommodate golf carts.
For boaters and day cruisers, Barefoot Resort has a marina on the Intracoastal Waterway. There are also free boat tie ups for those visiting the restaurants in Barefoot.
Barefoot Resort has an amazing boardwalk area that weaves through the marsh and ponds and along the waterway to offer various local boutique shopping. Restaurants overlook the waterway and the Barefoot Marina and the entertainment is always hopping with live music, shows at House of Blues and Alabama Theater.
From a real estate investor perspective, each village within the community has its own HOA. These rules and regulations pertain to that particular village and outlines how the village is run. For example, most of the condominiums can be short term rented on Airbnb or VRBO or a local property management company, but the single family homes cannot. Some of the villages have use of the Barefoot Amenities and some do not, therefore, it is imperative that you have a good real estate agent in Myrtle Beach to get questions answered for you.
